HOW
OFTEN SHOULD I CHANGE VALVE SPRINGS
Valve Springs will loose 15 to 20 % of
their tension after they have been through the first Heat Cycle.
After this they will give up at a fairly
slow rate, however we recommend changing Valve Springs
every 4 to 6 race events. (more often if
your rpm's are above 5500 each time on the track)
"To avoid damage to your valve
springs, do not over rev your motor on the stand"
SHOULD I USE A AIR FILTER
Definitely !!!!, for two reasons. One, it
will prevent dust and dirt from entering your Racing Motor
and causing unnecessary wear on internal
parts of the motor.
Secondly, your motor will make more
horsepower with a Clean Air Filter.
NOW WHAT DO I DO
Your motor is shipped "WITH NO
OIL" in the crankcase or the gear box. A Good Snythetic Oil is
Recommended. Many of our customers are
using Mobil 1 5w30 with Excellent Results.
Fast Times, New Track Records and Winning
Grand National Events using Mobil 1 in
their motors.
Honda GX 120 - 12oz - motor or crank case
Honda GX 120 - 4.5oz - gearbox
AT THE RACE TRACK
Always warm your motor before running on
the track, This will ensure proper clearences
are attained before you run the motor
under full power.
